After notifying that from now the CMAT exam will be annual instead of twice a year test, AICTE has issued the notification for CMAT 2016. As it have been described earlier, from now CMAT will be conducted once a year, so far it used to be held twice a year. This management admission exam will be conducted on all India level on January 17, 2016.
Online AICTE-CMAT Registrations started on 3rd November, will last till 10th December, 2015. Common Management Admission Test as name indicates is conducted for admission to MBA programs in thirteen states in various universities. Also not to forget, from this year, CMAT score will be used by many Business-Schools which offers PGDM programs.
The test which is gateway to 400+ B-Schools was secretly cancelled in September 2015 and new policy was adopted. The score of this examination is used by many institutions for admission to AICTE approved management programmes in the country. CMAT is crowned as 2nd largest MBA/PGDM entrance test in India after Common Admission Test (CAT) which holds the first position.
Higher number of applications for January examination
As the new policy of conducting the test once a year is introduced so there will be surely rise in number of candidates registering for the examination. Apart from CMAT September 2015 getting cancelled, there is one more reason of higher applications for CMAT 2016. As result is out for most of the entrance tests, now so the only hope for the candidates to get admission in to B-School programs is only this test. Approximately one lac candidates are expected to participate in this entrance test.
CMAT 2016 Pattern & Paper Scheme
CMAT Exam Pattern 2016 Syllabus: NO changes in pattern are notified in this entrance test which is going to be held for admission to 2016-18 batch. Same as earlier, there will be negative marking. One mark will be deducted for each wrong choice. Time duration for the test will be same 180 minutest (3 Hours). There will be 100 questions from four subjects in the exam with 25 questions each subject. One question to carry 4 marks which make a complete paper of 400 Marks.

Trial Test to understand the pattern and feel the online test will be available from 11th December, 2015 at official AICTE-CMAT portal. At test centers, candidate will get a particular desk with a computer with good connectivity and a scratch paper for research based rough work. No breaks will be allowed during the examination. How to Apply AICTE CMAT Application Form Online?
Official dedicated website of AICTE-CMAT can be used to submit your online registration. Registrations starts from 3rd November 2015 while last date to fill up the online application is 10th December, 2015. Make sure to have proper connectivity on the device you’re using to apply CMAT online form.
CMAT Application Fee: These payment can be made using net banking and even through nearby SBI branches if you prefer offline mode. AICTE is charging exam fee as per following:
- General & OBC candidates: Rs. 1400/-
- SC / ST/ PWD / All Women Applicants: Rs.700/-
Eligibility Details: If you’re interested in appearing for this test, either you should be graduates in any discipline or you must be the Final year student of any Graduate Courses.
