Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test contains 3 questions asked in English that carries a total of 30 marks and has to be attempted in 30 minutes.
Final Selection: An Interview Process will be conducted for the candidates clearing the Mains Exam to determine the final selection of the candidate to the post of Assistant Officer through NICL AO 2017 Exam.
Penalty for wrong answers
Preliminary Exam: 0.25 marks will be deducted when an answer is marked wrong. No marks will be deducted if a question is left un-attempted.
Mains Exam: 0.25 marks will be deducted for marking a question wrong. There will be no penalty for leaving a question un-attempted.

NICL 2017 Eligibility
Nationality:
A candidate is required to be either:
- A Citizen of India or
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification:
- The candidate must have a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a government recognized University or by the Central Government of India.
- A candidate must have at least 60% marks in his/her Graduation. The same percentage criteria is reduced to 55% for SC/ST Candidates.
Age Limit:
A candidate must not be less than 21 years & not more than 30 years old while applying for NICL AO 2017.
Age Relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories:

NICL Exam 2017 Results
The NICL AO 2017 Results will be declared after each phase of the exam is completed. The result for preliminary exam will be declared first followed by the result of mains exam. The result for NICL AO 2017 Preliminary Exam was released on 13th June 2017. The NICL AO 2017 result for Mains Exam will be released after the Mains Exam is conducted. The merit list will be prepared in the descending order of the marks obtained by candidates in the final interview round.
