South Eastern Railway (SER) issued Centralised Notification for recruitment of Sports Persons against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for filling up 21 Vacancies on SER Railway for the Year 2017-18. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12th October 2017.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years – maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2018. No relaxation in lower or upper age limit is permissible for any category of candidates.
Pay Scale: PB-1 + Grade Pay ₹ 2800 or 2400 / ₹ 2000 or ₹ 1900
Minimum Educational Qualification:
a) For the post having GP ₹ 2,800/- -> A University Degree or its equivalent.
b) For the post having GP ₹ 2,400/- -> 12th Pass (+2) or its equivalent, with 80 words per minute in Shorthand (Hindi / English) for duration of 10 Minutes which will be transcribed in typing in 65 minutes for English and in 75 Minutes for Hindi, for the post of Junior Stenographer (OR) A Pass in 1st Year of B.Sc. (Physics) or, a Pass in 10+2 stage in Higher Secondary in Science (Maths or Physics) for the post of Electrical Signal Maintainer-II in S&T Department.
c) For the post having GP ₹ 1,900 & 2000/- -> 12th or its equivalent Examination OR A Pass in Matric or its equivalent from a recognized board and having ITI Certificate.
Selection Process: All eligible candidates will be called for Sports Trial and after Trial, only the FIT candidates will be called for Interview.
Examination Fee: A Non-refundable fee of ₹ 250/- for SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PWDs, Women, Minorities and EBC Candidates; ₹ 500/- for all other candidates. The Bank Draft / IPO should be issued in favour of FA & CAO, South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach – 700043, payable at GPO / Kolkata.
How to Apply:
(a) Application as per prescribed application format given should be submitted on A4 size paper duly filled in by the candidates own handwriting, duly accompanying with self attested copies of all certificates and;
(b) Two passport size photographs (one to be pasted in the space provided in the application form and other to be clipped with the application form).
(c) All the Photocopies of Sports achievement Certificates, Age proof certificate. Education qualification and caste certificate should be self attested by the Candidate and should be enclosed along with Application Form.
(d) Any discrepancy found in the application and documents submitted by the applicants will render the application invalid. Candidates should write the “Name of the event, Category applied for and Post applied for” in block letters at the top of envelope which should be super scribed: “Application against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) Recruitment for the Year 2017-18”.
The completed application should be sent to ‘the Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, Bungalow No. 12A, Garden Reach, Kolkata – 700043 (near BNR Central Hospital)’ by post / Hand. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12/10/2017 up to 18:00 Hours (For Far flung area candidates – 20/10/2017).
