Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited, located in Kolkata is one of India’s leading shipyards. It made its presence in West Bengal in the year 1884. Initially it was formed as a small & privately owned company situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River. It got its name “Garden Reach Workshop” in 1964 which later got nationalized by Indian government in the year 1960 and also awarded with Miniratna status in year 2006.
