It is a collegiate research university and has six camps in the city, namely, Chepock, Marina, Guindy, Beach, Madurwal, and Chepet. Presently, 18 academic departments are grouped under 18th schools, such as science, social sciences, humanities, management, and pharmacology as well as 109 affiliated colleges and 52 approved research institutes.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has provided a ‘five-star’ recognition to the university and has been restated to ‘ university with the Capacity for excellence ‘ by UGC.
